Scenes from the Weekends

(mostly scenes of Tony's end of the studio, actually)

Thank you once again to all our wonderful visitors who turned out for the past two weekends of open studios. The first 2 photos show some of our international visitors--Thuy & Cuong from Vietnam. They're working on a very large scale collaborative mosaic (see www.hanoimural.vn), which includes some American artists, like my SRJC colleague, Joel Bennett.

This 2nd weekend, I was especially aware of documenting some of our younger visitors.

And finally there's Tony (what, me 50?) basking in a colorful new shirt.

THIS Weekend & Next: ArTrails! (Oct. 11, 12, 18, 19)

Where does the time go? Well, in any case, another Open Studio event has rolled around--and another chance for you to drop by, visit, and see what we've been up to.

For the first time in a while, I've been inspired to do a small series of new fruit paintings. I love to see the pears, quince, pomegranates and gourds becoming ripe. These, quince from neighbor Sara's trees.
Below, a more abstract-leaning corner.

And here's a busy corner from over on Tony's side. The title of this piece (in progress) "In the Season of the Old Me" comes from a song lyric.

Our NEXT Show

This show isn't til November-- (after our upcoming Open Studio Weekends)-- but I wanted to share with you this card, created by a designer, for our upcoming show at Pacific Union College.

I'm the one who usually makes up our cards; but how much nicer they might look if actually DESIGNed!
